Baby Ducks!

What’s quackin’, duck farmers? This is your big moment! Meet the long-awaited Baby Ducks. Now there’s another way to get a brand new NFT in Waves Ducks by feeding your baby duck into adulthood.

Upon registration, each player will have a baby duck with 0% growth. To make it bigger, you must buy food for $EGG tokens. When it reaches 100% growth, the baby duck can be turned into a random breedable genesis duck.

But there is a catch! A well-fed baby duck needs to spend energy in battles first to be able to chomp down on the next portion of food. Thus, baby ducks are strongly connected to the mechanics of duck battles, and the maximum amount of food you can buy is equal to the amount of Share Tokens earned in battles over the last 24 hours. There is no minimum threshold for feeding.

Keep in mind that if a baby duck is not fed within 24 hours, it will lose 1% of its accumulated growth, but it will not drop below 0%. If you get a baby duck through rebirth, it will start at 20% growth and that value will not decrease until the first feeding. You may feed more than one baby duck at a time.

The total amount of food needed for 100% duckling growth will increase over time. Currently, it is 0.8 $EGG, which is much cheaper than the cost of hatching, but it will take some time to train your baby duck in battles. With the feeding cost increase, your existing baby ducks do not lose their accumulated growth percentage.
